PRSI (Pensioner's Spouse, Dependent, or Surviving Civil Partner) Grant
The PRSI Grant is designed to assist pensioners, spouses, dependents, and surviving civil partners of pensioners who require hearing aids.
To apply for the PRSI Grant, you'll need to complete an application form, which we can provide where needed and is also available from your local Department of Social Protection office.
In most cases, we can apply online on your behalf, through our direct online portal to the Department of Social Protection. Simply call us on 018017640 and we can take details required to process applications online. Clients don’t need to show any proof of income, simply provide PPSN and DOB and we will submit claim on your behalf.
Once approved, the PRSI Grant can provide valuable financial support to help cover the cost of your hearing aids.
Med1 Grant
The Med1 Grant is available to individuals seeking tax relief on eligible medical expenses, including hearing aids. Criteria can be found on revenue.ie.
You need to be paying tax, in order to claim a rebate.
To claim tax relief through the Med1 Grant, you can submit your claim on your annual tax return to the Revenue Commissioners. You'll need to retain receipts and documentation related to your eligible medical expenses. We will have a record of your receipt and can provide a copy of this at any stage you need it.
With the Med1 Grant, you receive tax relief on your eligible medical expenses, which can include the cost of your hearing aids. This means you can recoup a portion of your expenses when you file your annual tax return.
